Our Newest Algorithmic Coding Compeititon for Students!
HackSussex also run an annual programming competition where all programmers studying at the University of Sussex compete to answer algorithmic coding puzzles. The first stage is a HackerRank competition where you can flex your knowledge of data structures and algorithms to answer as many questions as you can within a week! The next stage is a 8 player knockout competition where you will go toe to toe with other programmers, which will be streamed online. There is a prize pool involved for the winners of the competition.

Hackathon
18th - 19th February 2023, University Of Sussex
The biggest Annual Hackathon in Brighton & Hove!

HackSussex runs a weekend-long hackathon annually on Sussex campus. The hackathon is an event where passionate programmers and designers from all across the country come down to build the best tech inventions and solutions they can in just 24 hours, with many prizes for the winning teams.

This is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy yourself, boost your CV, and above all learn something new. Be it tech and software skills or teamwork experience. There's room for both the competitive and the laid back, and a chance for people of any level of experience to win prizes. The event is entirely free and paid for by our lovely sponsors.

A Laid Back Experience for Everyone with Games, Code and Snacks!
A weekly collaborative social gathering open to all students from the University of Sussex and the University of Brighton! A very chill event held in the Future Technology Lab in Chichester 1 where you can play Super Smash Bros, build robots and socialise. A great opportunity to network with like-minded peers and have interesting discussions about anything (doesn't have to be programming related!).
